Meet One Frequency United

Somewhere in Tennessee, on ten acres in the middle of nowhere, there’s a home studio where every One Frequency United song gets made. Written there, recorded there. It’s not run by a team of engineers or producers, just two punks who happen to be in love and are great at making a lot of sick jams together.

So who are they? Glad you asked.

Will Cybertron

Will grew up in the Chicago area and has been a punk rocker since 1994.

He’s also a former Navy Chief, and along the way he played bass in the Navy band. Yes, the Navy has a band.

These days he plays every instrument on our songs. Every single one. He also records everything right here in the home studio, and mixes and masters most of it. He’s written lyrics and sung on several tracks. If you’ve heard a One Frequency United song, you’ve heard a whole lot of Will.

By day he’s a software engineer and architect. Off the clock he builds robots, builds LEGO, and hangs out with his family. He’s a proud dad and a former bodybuilder with several awards to his name for Classic Physique.

Scarlett Vox

Scarlett has been singing and performing professionally since she was five. She comes from a musically talented family, which helped motivate her to pursue her interest in singing.

She grew up in Utah and moved to the Deep South a few years ago. She’s written lyrics and sung on several of the band’s songs, bringing a classically trained voice to accompany Will’s punk rock background.

Outside the studio, she’s a proud mom, a writer, and, in her own words, a “somewhat successful gardener.” She just finished her first novel and is working on getting it published. She’s also a big fan of 1950s hair and makeup, old Hollywood fashion and beauty trends.

Her ideal day: family time, tending the garden, a good book, some writing, and a movie with Will. They always end their day that way together.

How it all fits together

Will and Scarlett met in 2023 and have been making sick jams together ever since. On paper it’s an unlikely pairing: a punk rocker and Navy bassist who plays everything, and a classically trained singer with a soft spot for the 1950s. In the studio, it comes together perfectly.

Every song we’ve released was written and recorded at home in Tennessee, and all but one album was mixed and mastered there too. No big label. Just two people, a pile of instruments, and a lot of late nights (followed by movie time, of course).

Stick around. We’ll be posting here about new music, how the songs get made, and probably what’s growing in the garden, unless the damn caterpillars eat all the tomatoes again.
